The Coordinator, National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) Zone B, Comrade Okereke Godson C. Bishop has commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its successful convention which produced Mr. Uche Secondus and others as national executive members, saying the transparency of the convention is a pointer that Nigeria’s democracy is growing.
Okereke expressed delight at the peaceful conduct and candour displayed by organizers while the convention planning and event lasted and prayed that other political parties would emulate the PDP’s ways of doing politics.
“We observed with satisfaction the peaceful process of your convention. We are most delighted the unity exhibited amongst your members in your decision to play real opposition in the country. We are glad that democracy is growing in Nigeria as exemplified by your conduct and wish that other political parties would come to emulate you in the future”, read a statement sent to this blog.
According to the Coordinator, the PDP has shown itself a national trailblazer in pace setting. “The manner at which your contestants traversed the nooks and crannies of the country canvasing for votes was unprecedented. That has shown that we are maturing in this democracy.
“As future leaders of this great country, we under the NANS are learning and will manifest better. We urge the new incoming leadership of your party to quickly get down to business and ensure that our nation is moved forward through your positive contribution to governance and democratic development”, the statement read.
