Nneoma Mercy Ifeoma Iwuala of Umuneke in Anara ancient kingdom, Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State is dead. She was aged 77 years. The septuagenarian died after a brief illness.
She was survived by her octogenarian husband, six graduate sons, two graduate daughters, and nineteen grand children (including Roy-J of the musical lyric, “I’m Roy, am not Raw”).
The sons are Sir Roy Iwuala (Political writer and Partisan activist, Imo State), Mr Darlington Iwuala (Building Contractor, Imo State), Harry Iwuala (of Nigerian League Management Company, Abuja), Engr Frankline Iwuala (of Shell Petroleum Dev. Corp., Dubai), Barr Chief Stanley Iwuala (of Iwuala & Iwuala Legal Practitioners, Lagos), Engr McDon Iwuala (of AGIP, Port Harcourt).
Others are her daughters, Mrs Joy Ohayaha (of Lookout Communications Ltd, Lagos) and Mrs Constance Nnodi (of First Bank Insurance PLC, Port Harcourt).
A statement obtained by gregnwadikeblog.com informs that her burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
In the meantime, the former Executive Governor of Imo state, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim has described the death of the septuagenarian as a huge loss to the family at this stage of economic recession.
He however sends his consolation to the Iwuala family, urging them to find peace in the fact that their late mother lived a fulfilled christian life worthy of emulation.
