Asiwaju Bola Amed Tinubu, the National Leader of the APC has lost his son.
The deceased, Jide Tinubu was said to have suddenly died despite being hale and hearty.
Henry Ajomale, chairman of the APC in Lagos state, confirmed the tragic incident.
President Buhari Reaches out
President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the death of Jide Tinubu, the eldest son of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Punch reports. The president offered his condolences to the Tinubu family in a statement released on Wednesday, November 1, by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina; and also called the APC national leader on the phone, to commiserate with him over the unfortunate incident.
The president stated that the death of Jide Tinubu had robbed the nation of the services and potentials of the resourceful lawyer. The president described the sad incident as ‘sad and painful’ and prayed that God would grant the Tinubu family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Speaker Dogara Reacts…
Meanwhile, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, reacted to the death of Jide while expressing shock over the incident. He praised the late Jide for being very hardworking and enterprising.
Former president Goodluck Jonathan has sympathized with the family of the deceased via his tweeter handle @GEJonathan.
Jonathan said: “My deepest sympathies to Asiwaju and family on the great loss you have suffered. May God grant your son Jide repose in His Bosom.”
All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the passing of Jide Tinubu. The party while sending its condolence to the party chieftain, Asiwaju Tinubu said it received the news with shock and grief. In a statement made available to gregnwadikeblog.com, the party said:
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) has received the sad news of the death of Jide Tinubu, the son of the former governor of Lagos state and the Party’s National Leader, H.E. Sen. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with great shock and grief. “It is never easy losing a child or any loved one. Indeed, it is hardest when they are taken from us too soon. Many who met the late Jide Tinubu, who was a lawyer, fondly described him as cerebral, industrious and full of life. “In this moment of grief, the Party offers its sincere condolence and deepest sympathy to His Excellency and other immediate family members over the painful loss. May the outpouring of sympathy and the comfort in knowing that the late Jide’s death is felt by many, help the family through this difficult time. “We pray Almighty Allah (SWT) grant the late Jide eternal rest”
Late Jide was a law graduate of the University of Liverpool, England. He obtained a Masters degree in Maritime Law from the University of London and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1999. The late lawyer had served as Promoter of TSL Limited and also worked in the Legal Department of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited from January 2000 to September 2001.
