An Aba Businessman, Chief Emeka Diwe has petitioned the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara through Hon. Ossy Prestige of Abia calling for protection of his life and his properties from Abia state governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s “brother” after them.

Diwe, the CEO of Unik D in a petition to Dogara which copy was stumbled upon by our reporter asked that Ikpeazu’s brother should be asked to release his five (5) trucks belonging to him which were forcefully towed from their official parking lots.

He also requested that he be given special protection as his life and that of his family are under serious threat and danger following blackmails and victimization from Ikpeazu’s “brother”

Diwe, alleged in his petition that a certain Bright Chinedu Ikokwu popularly known as “Osama” who is a Deputy Director at the Traffic and Indiscipline Management Authority of Abia State (TIMAAS), and who equally boasts of his relationship with the Abia governor stormed his company on the 18th of January 2017 and towed away his company’s trucks.

“Our staff had a very little issue with our next neighbo, Chief Ifeanyichukwu Adinnu over a loading space… He boasted that he would deal with us with his connections. On the 18th January 2017 (3 days after) at about 10.30am we were shocked when some TIMAAS men numbering 10, accompanied by over 20 mobile policemen and soldiers, under the leadership of Mr. Bright Chinedu Ikokwu stormed our business premises in a commando/mafia operation, with our next neighbor Chief Ifeanyichukwu directing them. They started towing away only our vehicles as chief Ifeanyi was towing them one by one in our presence”

He claimed that as they approached ‘Osama” to find out why he was towing his vehicles, he was told to simply go and settle with his neighbor who brought a complaint against him over parking spaces.

“Sir, we were shocked next day when Mr. Bright Chinedu Ikokwu called our Managing Director demanding us to pay the sum of N390, 000; that is N130, 000 each for the release of the vehicles. We were further confused because our trucks did not contravene any of the traffic agencies’ laws, or any law of the state”, he claimed.

Diwe further alleged that his refusal to pay the requested amount angered “Osama” who threatened to deal with him and send him out of the state. He added that “Osama” lived up to his threat when on the 20th of March 2017 he sent his boys to yet again confiscate his truck which was well parked on a Federal High Way off Owerri-Aba Road and towed it away with goods in it.

“The truck was fully loaded with goods known as De=oiled cake (DOC), a highly perishable goods worth more than Eighteen Million Naira (N18, 000, 000) and has continued to detain same truck with goods in his TAMAAS garage with the goods inside it till this moment without issuing any document to us indicating any official offence and charging us to court”

He said as Law abiding citizen, his company formally petitioned the Area Commander Aba and the AIG Zone 9 Umuahia to wade into the matter, but that a malicious counter petition to the police by “Osama” had prevented the police to release reports of their investigations.

“Mr Bright Chinedu Ikokwu wrote a malicious counter petition purported to have emanated from the Governor’s office alleging that our Managing Director, Chief Emeka Diwe was threatening to kill the Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu which he knows is a false and calculated attempt to divert the attention of the police and put our company in conflict with the governor. Oue Managing Director was arrested and investigated by the Police from Zone 9 in Umuahia. From that March 2017 till date, the police have not released the report of the investigation which clearly indicted Mr. Chinedu Bright Ikokwu”, the petition reads.

He said he never threatened the life of the governor of Abia state and does not in any way or manner have anything against the office of the governor of Abia state.

“We see this as a dangerous blackmail as it involved the life of the governor of Abia state, mischievously designed by Mr. Bright Chinedu to incite and set up the governor against me. This is dangerous and a serious threat to my life. We are even handicapped in the whole thing as this “Osama” brags to all that he is the governor’s brother and runs the government, therefore nobody can stop him” he disclosed.

He called on the Speaker and other security agencies to intervene as he considers “Osama”s tactic an attempt to ground his business, put him permanently behind bars and take over his business and properties.
